NETWORK VEGAS
Content Strategy & Submission Policy
The Official Guide for All Platform Content
Effective March 2026 | Version 2.0
Introduction
Network Vegas is Southern Nevada’s premier business directory and community content platform. Our mission is to connect Las Vegas metro businesses, organizations, and residents through accurate, trustworthy, and locally relevant content.
This document governs all content submitted to or published on the Network Vegas platform — including press releases, business listings, event announcements, blog contributions, and social media features. It applies equally to free-eligible entities, paid submitters, partner organizations, and membership holders.
The guiding principle behind every policy in this document is simple: if it’s real, local, and newsworthy, it belongs on Network Vegas.
| Who This Document Is ForAny individual, business, organization, agency, or PR firm submitting content to the Network Vegas platform. By submitting content, you agree to the standards and policies described here. |
1. Geographic Scope — The Southern Nevada Requirement
Network Vegas is a hyper-local platform serving Southern Nevada. All content published on the platform must have a direct connection to the Southern Nevada community, businesses, or residents.
1.1 What Counts as Southern Nevada
The Southern Nevada coverage area includes, but is not limited to:
- Las Vegas (all zip codes and neighborhoods)
- Henderson
- North Las Vegas
- Boulder City
- Summerlin, Enterprise, Spring Valley, and other unincorporated Clark County communities
- Mesquite and Pahrump (where content has direct relevance to the broader Southern Nevada community)
1.2 Qualifying Connections
Your content qualifies as Southern Nevada-relevant if any of the following apply:
| Connection Type | Example |
|---|---|
| Headquartered here | A Las Vegas-based company announcing a new hire |
| Operating here | A national brand opening a Las Vegas location |
| Event happening here | A conference, fundraiser, or grand opening in Henderson |
| Based here, working elsewhere | A Las Vegas nonprofit conducting relief work in another state |
| Founder / resident | A Las Vegas resident launching a nationally distributed product |
| Direct community impact | A policy change, study, or initiative that directly affects Southern Nevada residents |
1.3 What Does Not Qualify
The following will be rejected regardless of payment or entity status:
- Content with no discernible Southern Nevada connection
- National releases submitted purely for SEO distribution with Nevada mentioned only in passing
- Content from organizations with no presence, customers, or impact in Southern Nevada
| The TestAsk yourself: Would a Southern Nevada resident or business owner care about this announcement? If the honest answer is no, it does not belong on Network Vegas. |
2. Entity Classifications
All submitters are classified by organization type. Your classification determines your eligibility for free, partner-rate, or standard-rate content submission. Current pricing for all content types is listed separately on the Network Vegas pricing page.
2.1 Free-Eligible Entities
The following organization types may submit press releases and certain content types at no charge, subject to verification:
| Entity Type | Verification Method |
|---|---|
| Nonprofit 501(c)(3) | IRS determination letter — manual review within 2 business days |
| Government agency | .gov email address — auto-verified |
| Accredited educational institution | .edu email address — auto-verified |
2.2 Partner-Rate Entities
Chambers of Commerce and 501(c)(6) professional associations are recognized as community partners and receive a discounted rate upon verified approval:
| Entity Type | Verification Method |
|---|---|
| Chamber of Commerce (501c6) | Manual admin review — organization name, website, and EIN |
| Professional / Trade Association (501c6) | Manual admin review — organization name, website, and EIN |
Partner status is granted at Network Vegas’s sole discretion and may be revoked at any time. Partner discounts apply to base press release submissions only. Upgrade features are priced at the standard rate for all submitters.
2.3 Paid Entities
All other entity types are required to pay standard rates for content submissions:
- For-profit businesses (LLC, Corp, S-Corp, partnership, etc.)
- Sole proprietors and freelancers
- Political organizations and PACs
- Religious organizations
2.4 PR Firms & Agencies
PR firms, marketing agencies, and communications professionals may submit content on behalf of clients. The following rules apply:
- The agency must create a single account and disclose they are submitting on behalf of a client on every submission
- The client organization’s entity type determines the applicable rate — not the agency’s
- The agency is responsible for ensuring all client submissions comply with this policy
- Policy violations by a client may result in restriction of the agency account at Network Vegas’s discretion
- Agencies submitting for multiple clients must identify the client clearly in the submission form
3. Press Release Policy
3.1 What Is a Press Release on Network Vegas
A press release is a formal news announcement submitted by an organization for publication on the Network Vegas platform and distribution to the Network Vegas audience. It is not advertising. It is not a blog post. It is a structured news announcement with a specific format and a specific news hook.
3.2 The News Test — What Qualifies as a Press Release
Every press release must pass the News Test: it must announce something specific that happened or is about to happen, that a Southern Nevada business owner or resident would find genuinely informative.
| ✓ Acceptable Examples | ✗ Not Acceptable |
|---|---|
| Company opens new Las Vegas location | General brand awareness with no specific news hook |
| Executive appointment or key hire | A product description dressed as a press release |
| Award or certification received | An unverifiable award or self-bestowed title |
| Partnership or contract announcement | A promotional offer or sale |
| Community initiative or charitable event | Keyword-stuffed SEO content with no news value |
| Research, report, or survey findings | Content whose primary URL is a lead capture page |
| Groundbreaking, grand opening, or ribbon cutting | A release published elsewhere more than 30 days prior |
3.3 Writing Standards
- Write in third person — never ‘we,’ ‘our,’ or ‘I’
- Avoid superlatives and unsubstantiated claims (‘best,’ ‘leading,’ ‘revolutionary’) unless attributed to a named source
- Do not use the release to directly solicit sales, signups, or leads
- AI-assisted writing is permitted. However, the release must be specific, factually accurate, and clearly about the named organization and announcement. Generic, templated, or obviously mass-produced content will be rejected regardless of how it was written.
3.4 Prior Publication Policy
Network Vegas does not require exclusive content. However:
- Releases published elsewhere more than 30 days before submission will be rejected
- Simultaneous distribution to multiple outlets is acceptable
- Submitters must disclose prior publication in the submission form
- Releases already indexed on major wire services (PR Newswire, Business Wire, GlobeNewswire) for more than 30 days will not be accepted
3.5 Political & Religious Content — Special Rules
Network Vegas is a non-partisan, non-denominational platform. The following rules apply to political and religious content regardless of submitter entity type:
- Non-partisan event announcements, community programs, and factual organizational news are accepted
- Content whose primary purpose is political advocacy, endorsement of candidates or ballot measures, or promotion of religious doctrine will be rejected
- This rule applies to all entity types — including nonprofits with verified free status. Advocacy content from free-eligible entities is subject to the same content review and standard rate
- Political organizations may submit factual announcements (office opening, staff hire, event) but not campaign messaging
3.6 Real Estate Content Rules
Real estate is a major Southern Nevada industry and legitimate real estate news is welcome on Network Vegas. The following framework applies:
- Approved: Development groundbreaking or completion, notable property sales, market reports and data releases, new office or brokerage opening, executive hire, award or designation received
- Requires additional review: Individual agent announcements, investment seminar promotion, wholesaler announcements
- Rejected: Any release where the primary URL is a lead capture form, IDX search, cash offer page, or affiliate link — if it reads like a listing or an ad, it will not be approved
| The Real Estate TestWould this story run in the Las Vegas Review-Journal business section without embarrassment? If yes, it likely qualifies. If it reads like a Zillow ad or a mailer, it does not. |
4. Prohibited Content & Industries
The following content types are prohibited across all Network Vegas platform features — press releases, event listings, blog content, business listings, and social features. Submissions containing prohibited content will be rejected with no refund. Repeat violators will be permanently banned.
4.1 Zero-Tolerance Prohibited Categories
| Category | What Is Prohibited |
|---|---|
| Crypto / Web3 / NFT schemes | Token launches, ICOs, NFT mints, wallet promotions, yield farming, or any content whose primary purpose is promoting a speculative digital asset |
| Online gambling, betting & prediction markets | Online casinos, sports betting platforms, offshore betting sites, fantasy sports wagering platforms, prediction market apps, and any service facilitating online wagering — regardless of claimed licensing or jurisdiction |
| MLM / Network marketing | Multi-level compensation structures, distributor recruitment, downline building, or ‘business opportunity’ content without a legitimate standalone product |
| Get-rich-quick / Passive income | ‘Financial freedom,’ guaranteed returns, passive income systems, work-from-home income claims without a verifiable legitimate business |
| Reputation laundering / SEO spam | Content with no genuine news value whose primary purpose is backlink generation, suppression of negative search results, or keyword stuffing |
| Fake / unverifiable credentials | Awards, rankings, certifications, or media features that cannot be independently verified |
| Predatory financial products | Payday lending, high-APR consumer loans, debt settlement, credit repair schemes targeting vulnerable consumers |
| Unsubstantiated health claims | Miracle cures, rapid weight loss, detox products, or medical outcome claims not supported by peer-reviewed evidence |
| Adult content / escort services | Adult entertainment, escort services, and sexually explicit content regardless of legal status in Nevada |
| Timeshare / vacation club | Timeshare sales, vacation clubs, and consumer travel schemes commonly associated with deceptive marketing |
| Anonymous organizations | Any submitter who cannot be verified as a real, operating entity with a legitimate web presence and verifiable contact information |
Note: Licensed brick-and-mortar Nevada casinos and gaming establishments are not subject to the online gambling prohibition and may submit factual news announcements about their physical operations.
4.2 Restricted Categories — Require Additional Review
The following are not automatic bans but receive additional editorial scrutiny. All must clearly pass the News Test:
- Cannabis businesses — factual news announcements accepted; product or dispensary promotions rejected
- Personal injury and law firm content — must be genuine news; keyword-stuffed SEO releases rejected
- Real estate investment and wholesaling — see Section 3.6 for full rules
- Wellness practitioners and coaches — accepted if announcing news; rejected if making therapeutic or financial outcome claims
5. Event Listings Policy
5.1 What Qualifies as an Event
Event listings are available to all Southern Nevada organizations and individuals. An event listing announces a specific happening with a defined date, time, and location in or hosted by a Southern Nevada organization.
5.2 Accepted Event Types
- Business networking events, mixers, and conferences
- Grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and launch parties
- Community and charity events, fundraisers, and drives
- Educational workshops, seminars, and training sessions
- Arts, culture, and entertainment events with community relevance
- Government and civic meetings open to the public
- Religious and faith community events (non-advocacy — open to the community)
- Health and wellness events and screenings
5.3 Event Listing Rules
- Must include: event name, date, time, location (physical address or virtual link), and a contact or registration link
- Must be a real event open to the public or a defined audience — not an internal company meeting
- Must have a Southern Nevada location or be hosted by a Southern Nevada organization
- Political fundraisers and campaign events may be listed but will not be featured or promoted by Network Vegas
- Events promoting prohibited content categories (Section 4) will be rejected
6. Business Directory Listings Policy
6.1 Who Can List
Any legitimate business or organization operating in or serving Southern Nevada may apply for a directory listing. Listings are subject to verification and editorial review.
6.2 Listing Requirements
- Must be a real, operating business or organization
- Must have a verifiable physical address or service area in Southern Nevada
- Must have a working website or verifiable online presence
- Must provide accurate category, contact information, and business description
- Business description must be factual — not promotional copy, not keyword stuffed
6.3 Prohibited Business Types
The following business types are not eligible for directory listings regardless of entity status or payment:
- Businesses in any category listed in Section 4.1 (zero-tolerance prohibited categories)
- Online gambling platforms, online casinos, offshore betting sites, sports betting apps, and prediction market services — whether or not licensed in another jurisdiction
- Businesses whose primary revenue model is MLM or network marketing
- Escort services and adult entertainment businesses
- Businesses that cannot provide a verifiable Southern Nevada address or service area
Note: Licensed Nevada casinos and gaming establishments operating physical facilities in Southern Nevada are eligible for directory listings and may list their business as a standard paid entity.
