TMS 402/602-22: CHANGES FROM THE 2016 EDITION

The 2022 edition of Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures (identified as TMS 402 and TMS 602 respectfully) were published after a 6-year revision cycle in July 2022. This presentation will review the major changes to the 2022 edition which include organizational changes, a complete revision to the veneer provisions, the addition of tension-controlled and compression-controlled sections for strength design, the elimination of the empirical design method, the movement of the infill provisions from an appendix to a Chapter, the addition of an appendix on masonry walls reinforced with GFRP reinforcement and more.
