The Nevada Independent’s two-day IndyFest returns with a lineup of on-stage interviews covering the issues shaping the state — moderated largely by Indy CEO Jon Ralston. Day one runs at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Thursday, October 22; day two moves to Durango Casino & Resort on Friday, October 23. One ticket covers both days.

The 2026 program leans into questions with real business consequence for Southern Nevada. A panel on prediction markets brings together Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Mike Dreitzer with gaming attorneys Daniel Wallach and Gary Kalbaugh to work through why the products are growing nationally and why they remain prohibited here. “The Data Center Dilemma” puts the Sierra Club, the Desert Research Institute and Switch on the same stage. Another panel takes up the state economy with UNLV economist Nicholas Irwin and Holland & Hart’s Doug Thornley. National political interviews round out the bill, alongside a bipartisan election-security conversation featuring former Governor Brian Sandoval.
