Give us one long lunch in December and you’ll get back the part of the holidays that was supposed to be yours — a table you didn’t set, a meal you didn’t cook, an afternoon nobody needs anything from you.

You arrive carrying December. You leave with Christmas back in it.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

December has a way of turning into a logistics project. Gifts, lists, other people’s traditions, your own calendar staring back at you. This is the two and a half hours that belong to you.

Noël en France is a long French lunch in the middle of the holiday season — ivory and evergreen, champagne gold, a table you don’t have to set or clear. There’s a dessert salon, because one dessert is a rounding error. There’s a sparkling cider toast. And there’s an ornament exchange where you bring the story, not just the box.

Then we write Letters to Next Christmas. You address the envelope to yourself, we seal it, and it lands in your mailbox next November — a note from the woman you were, arriving exactly when you need her.

You’ll go home with a little Christmas in Paris, and a table full of women who now know what you’re actually planning for the year.

THE DAY

Doors open at 11:30 with a glass of French sparkling lemonade and time to find your seat. Lunch is served at noon and runs long on purpose. Around one o’clock we write our letters. Then the ornament exchange, then the dessert salon, then a sparkling toast to close. We finish at 2:30.

One wrapped ornament, $15 to $20, that you would be delighted to hang on your own tree. Someone else will take it home, and you’ll get thirty seconds to tell her why you chose it.

Dress is Festive Holiday Chic. The Monarch Club is our home for the afternoon. Bring your wrapped ornament and an envelope’s worth of things you want to tell yourself next Christmas — we’ll supply the stationery. Tell us about dietary needs when you register and the kitchen will take care of it.
